Movement Detective School

Movement Detective School is a movement education membership with the goal of helping you apply Anatomy in Motion concepts and movements to your own body. My hope is for you to have the tools to take ownership of your body’s needs for healthy movement and rely less on practitioners for your physical well-being.

*NOTE: As of December 2022, I will no longer be consistently adding new content to MDS, however I am still available for guidance and support as you work through the movement lessons in the library.

I’ve got a lot of movement love to share…

One of my highest values is learning: How we can use movement to restore balance to the body, and unwind the effects of a lifetime of injuries, habitual postures, and repetitive patterns. My intention is to clarify and simplify the complexities of gait biomechanics, so that anyone can and benefit from healthier movement, regardless of their anatomical or athletic background.

Movement Detective School is where I share everything I’ve learned to help you learn about how your anatomy is built to move, and develop your own meaningful, enjoyable, sustainable, and healthy movement practice.

The curriculum I set up for Movement Detective School is for DIY minded people who want to understand how their bodies work so they can take ownership of their need for healthy movement and rely less on therapists.

As far as I know, it’s the only online movement education platform that combines a structured curriculum of movement sessions based on retraining gait using the Anatomy in Motion method, with 1:1 guidance (from me!) every step of the way.

Here’s what’s included:

  1. Liberated Body Part 1 course including lesson workbooks and 14 Day Challenge
  2. Access to complete library of movement sessions:
    Movement Deep Dive Sessions
Movement & Strength Training Foundations sessions
    Past Liberated Body workshop recordings
    Movement Multivitamin sessions
Movement Playtime 10 min video series
  3. A structure for learning about your body and movement with built in accountability and personalized support to keep you doing your best work.

$30/month, or $220/year. No commitment, you can leave any time.

What’s a Movement Deep Dive Session?

I started Movement Deep Dive sessions because there is so much more nuance to explore in every exercise and concept explored in the Liberated Body workshop.

We go deeper into connections in your body’s movement system, investigate the effect of past injuries, explore specific body parts and how they should move, and make time at the end to ask questions, discuss our insights, and share our experiences.

Here’s a snippet from a Movement Deep Dive session on the connection between the movement of the foot and the jaw:

What’s a Movement and Strength Training Foundations class?

These classes integrate Anatomy in Motion concepts and exercises into the context of a full body, body-weight strength training session.

In Movement Detective School you will find a vast library of sessions with different themes to explore. Every class addresses the lower body, upper body, and core. We begin with a brief meditation/body scanning exercise, diaphragmatic breathing check-in, then a movement preparation based on AiM gait-based movements before getting into the strength exercises.

My wish for you…

The stuff I share in MDS s the stuff I move about, think about, and learn about in my own life everyday.

My wish is that something interesting and useful may overflow from my experience to yours, and be as enriching for you as it is for me.

I wish for you to move with more ease and less pain.

I wish for you to gain the tools you need to build a meaningful, enjoyable, sustainable, and healthy movement practice.

I wish for you to have a more trusting relationship with your body.

I wish for you to understand the connections within your own movement system and be able to understand “why is this happening?”, “why does my body feel this way?”

I wish for you to learn to listen to your body’s inner wisdom and tap into it daily so you can rely less on other people to “fix” you.

I wish for you to inhabit your body with ease, to let go of the struggle, let go of the need to be always fixing or correcting something that feels “wrong”.

I don’t know if I can grant these wishes, but I can show you the process through which these wishes come true for myself.
